The jargon K. Karamanlis used in his speech on 6/9/2008 was a professional jargon from the several existing (e.g. medical, psychological, accountant, engineering, legal, and others) and it was one used not by the People but by those the mass media named ‘production agents’ who are not, of course, the People whom K. Karamanlis completely and with flaunting airs while the People was demonstrating en masse in the periphery of the International Trade Fair, as much as that was allowed by the police blockades.
Just like any thinking person speaking the same language can understand a jargon in its gist more or less, the People understood very well the run-around by this person and the conceit he has to believe he possesses more authority than the one granted to him by the People, who he informed that he will continue to rob and oppress against the People’s demand of the past few months that he stop.
But a jargon conceals details from the one who does not speak it, since the gist is understood from the sum of the text while the details from the expression in specific phrases. The additional theatrical and many times funny gesturing accompanying the delivery of the written text took attention away for several fractions of a second during which important details passed unnoticed.
For this reason we translate the speech which was directed to the production agents (i.e. the big capital holders/ business people/ ship owners/ trade factory owners) and we convert it into a speech with the exact same content but with the People as the target audience, that is the middle, working and agricultural social classes.
Attention: in many occasions during the speech, K. Karamanlis alludes to concepts, titles, groups and other ideas which, in order to be possible to directly comprehend them, demand knowledge of facts which are not always available to the average Citizen, knowledge of statistical analysis and readings interpretations, and capacity to perform content analysis to manage to see clearly the true meaning and intent implied. Below, therefore, in this content analysis and interpretation of the true meaning of his words we have presented added sentences/ explanatory notes which are necessary for the comprehension of this in essence coded text.
This type of coded texts are the fronts/ justifications/ excuses for the execution of policies and measures the People does not approve but which they accuse him of approving “with popular demand/ order of the programme announced” by each ruling political party.
We link you to part of the speech directed to the production agents (not the People) as it was delivered (along with paraphrases by the mass media) and we urge you to read it in comparison with the translation- analysis we are presenting below. Keep in mind this is an analysis of the phrase by phrase speech, which is not available in full translation in English:
“The World community has many problems of financial as well as other natures.
We have to face many opponents. (K. Karamanlis used the word ‘fronts’, i.e. enemies against the audience to which he is targeting the speech)
The conditions/ situations demand that we be very certain what planned steps we take, who will protect us while we take them, how strong we seem while we are making them.
Until now we are following the correct methodology for our goals.
We managed to force the Country to conform to alterations, developments and submission to foreign to the Country elements, changing its character and its policy.
We can check how much we have earned in money and status now that the People hate us.
That which we have earned is already very important regarding how we will install ourselves from now on in the territory we have conquered.
You will earn even more capital with the international energy agreements I ensured for your sake (the greek-turkish and greek-italian pipes/ channels, the oil line Burgas- Alexandroupoli and now South Stream) since the Country becomes important for all the multi-national corporations exploiting these lines and consequently there will be new contracts for your corporations in N. Greece.
The changes in education caused changes:
– the Public University changes
– the legislation of the Independent Studies Workshops changes
– we opened an International University in Thessaloniki
– we are thinking of re-changing the system of entry to university level education
The changes in taxation and the raising of the prices and the emergency or special levies to the People as well as the tax exemptions, the funding of the big multinational corporations in conjunction with the obliteration of the small and personal business through the actions of the minister of Finances and National economy. Managed to very smoothly secured for you the money you were losing by the existence of the middle class and its freelancers/ business people, strengthening drastically your financial power.
You understand how much money you would have lost if I had not dared to take blatant anti-social and anti-constitutional measures which enraged and are enraging the People but which you need to maximize your profit.
I made the Country the 3rd best for investments, with which you earn maximized profits which continue to augment with one of the greatest rates of reallocation of wealth for your corporations and your stocks in the Eurozone.
We had tangible remuneration from the moves I made for you:
– you got cheaper labour via lower salaries, in the same time demonstrating that you are employing more people (just 7% seems the unemployment level) while you pay in sum a lesser total amount for these salaries.
– Your incomes increased to such a level that even with the overabundance of those living below the poverty level and those having €700- 1000 the great point average of the Gross National Product per capita, which is augmented by your income/ profit that is counteracting in the calculation the impoverishment of the People, reached from 92% in 2003, 98% of the great point average in the Eurozone.
– In every €100 we added €3 in the salaries per year, which we typically call ‘a raise’ and we present ourselves to be better than the governments of the others who simply added €0,3 in every €100 per year and called it ‘a raise’.
– We can claim that we raised the pensions of OGA and EKAS (= greek benefits directed to farmers and pensioners as additional income) as well as the unemployment benefit, just as we’d said we would do without informing them whether the raise we would give would allow them to face the rising prices that I enforced in order to take back the raise I took with interest.
– We gave some allowance to the families expecting a third child which will likely cover food or diapers for 6 months and we installed the amount of €2000 for the women who will need to pay for the third time more than €5000 for their pregnancy and labour.
The obliteration of the money, reserves and property of the insurance cashtills through merging with the guidance and orchestration of your managerial staff and the investments ordered in your international corporations secures the continuation of the maximization of your profits, by designing a system to your interest and not allowing you to be wronged any further by obliging yourselves to guarantee the welfare and health of those working for you on a poverty salary. Nor will you secure that the pensioners who are now useless to you will live decently.
I didn’t do all this easily. Each move I made had the People as my opponent, who still continue to believe have Rights and a Constitution and who still insist in trying to ensure their survival.
Ladies and Gentlemen, a year ago, putting the Economy as my basic target of attack, I had elections. I managed to remain in power with the actions you allowed me, you, the Citizens I truly serve. Ever since, I have served you faithfully, doing all I promised you in my last year’s speech to you. I continue systematically the reallocation of power and wealth of the Land to your interest.
I make excuses to the People and use the pretext of the international crisis. In the last period of time I managed to get across that no People is living well. All the manipulations you performed internationally through your banking enterprises, the traps/ tricks of the stock exchange and the continuous allegations that the initiatives you take is a mysterious force of nature and not your own volition and strategy, all forced the People with my consent and promotion to pay for oil, food and other materials much more expensively.
Our cooperation and our manipulations made it impossible for any State Economy to protect its People, resulting in its shrinking and in the expensiveness we imposed to prevail everywhere, degrading societies.
Big international economic organisations, members of which we all are, had not warned the People for what was coming.
The European Committee didn’t dare tell out front what we were planning for the economies of the Eurozone. It had to delude the Peoples two times and still it did not dare tell them openly the accurate picture.
Its average rage of growth, from 2,8% in 2006, shrunk to half as much, while the most powerful economies (Germany, France, Italy) documents, in the last trimester, negative numbers. That is, the People of these countries lost great State and personal capital in the process of the reallocation of wealth we are attempting.
The average inflation in the Eurozone, from 1,8% in July 2007, shot up to 4% in a year. It more than doubled and documented a historical record since the foundation of EMU. That is, never in the history of EMU did we manage to pry such huge amounts from the Peoples.
It was impossible not to use the international opportunity in our Country to over-enrich ourselves.
– The absolute payments for fuel, in the first semester of 2008, rose almost by €2,000,000,000 in relation to last year.
– The raises in the prices of imports went past 12.5%
– The inflation is pushing, on an annual basis, 4.5%
– Growth, from the foreseen 4% limited itself, in the first semester, to 3.5% of the Gross National Product.
– The cost for the interest of the national debt rose significantly, because of the rise of the interest rates.
The expenditure of the state increased and the income decreased. All these overturned basic statements in the State Budget. I have full knowledge that it is vastly obvious that I either lied or am incompetent to bring to fruition that which I commit for to the People. I know how hard it is to manipulate them.
I have awareness of the opinion of the People about me as well as what they demand of me.
I am aware that I should protect those I have been financially undermining, but I am obliged to continue to ensure for you even greater profits to their detriment.
I know my position and what I must face. I know the goal you have set for me and how to achieve it.
I am not allowed to stall or hesitate or postpone the reallocation you have delegated to me since I must do it with the pretext of the international developments you are giving me. I apologize for all occasions I had had to fall back.
But I assure you that I will do everything systematically without deviating from the task you appointed to me for this land.
The more than doubling of your financial power as well as the very cheap employment you are using proves how good I am in designing compared to my colleagues in other Countries of the Eurozone.
Implacability guarantees that we will face even spontaneous reactions from the people and that you will continue to spread your control over the Land. The excuse of the international crisis is catchy enough to allow us to be more blatant.
We have your orders and we follow them openly and systematically.
We are capable of proving that we are the best executors of the programme of reallocation of wealth and power from anyone else internationally.
Ladies and gentlement, there are still remnants in the economy of the Country obstructing us in this procedure. There are, however, a lot of leverages.
I am aware that the People will resist our activity greatly. I will continue and I will take up for us all any cost/ consequence I will not be able to avoid.
I am decided to continue making the reallocation more pronounced and I will not abandon you. That is my decision.
We maintain economic/ financial policy:
– We maintain the protecting and profitable for you policy
– We secure for you first position in the profitability of your corprorations in the Eurozone
– A safety net for you and me from the reaction of the People who we are degrading with their full dependence from insufficient allowances with the character of charity
I will continue to pretend that I seek not the obliteration of national debt but its limitation (which means nothing more than interpreting percentages the People will not have the raw data to double check) as with this we can justify the disappearance of enormous funds belonging and directed to the People but in this way are being redirected with no cost towards you.
I will claim I seek not to spend and to say what I spend and where (but further below in my speech I will tell you what I truly intend to do while I will be claiming as much).
For this purpose:
– I burden the State Budget with Special Accounts (that is, lists of expenses nobody answers for and arbitrarily fills in)
– We limit the investment of money for the People’s interest with the composition of budgeting justifying the reducing of services for which the People has already paid and provided for in the last 60 years (State Welfare Taxes, and so on)
– I increase the fees of ministers who, lacking an evaluation/ checking mechanism, lacking transparent proceedings and rules, have a blank check to play even more with the funds the People have worked for.
We develop even more preparatory stages which will draw funds that should have gone to the People, in the form of salaries, funds and allowances for those of our side who will staff the organizations composing Budget Programmes.
With the same goal of pulling more funds we are designing the general changes in the Public Sector, which, for Greece, is a symbol of financial independence and security of the Citizen.
First target is the Olympic Airlines and the Train Organisation which, despite the burden of at least €2,700,000 per day we have put on the People with the abject mismanagement we have secured through our directors, are still considered necessary by the People.
Regarding the Olympic Airlines I will tear it apart by giving the logo and name to another company belonging to you while the problems we have caused will still continue to be paid by the People, without, however, having any of the profits or remunerations.
The trajectories of action are:
– mass lay-offs through blackmail, without compensation and with a limited pension as well as repositioning those sided with us in other privileged positions of the public sector where it will be forced to pay for unnecessary staff (and thus we pave the way for the future ‘reform’ of those services too).
– Securing special capital/ funding with the excuse of itineraries to the islands (exactly as we are doing for your ship itineraries )
– I will ensure that the existence of several private companies will be visible so that the people will not be angry suspecting monopoly.
Regarding the Train Organization, I will tear it apart by making two independent companies.
In particular:
– I will give direct access to your banks with the excuse of the debt we have created
– I will give away to you the management and exploitation of the landed property the Organization owns but not the costs
– I will force the dismissal without compensation and reduced pension of all the employees not serving us and install people of our side in management.
I will continue to say that I will redistribute the financial burden but I will protect your profit by exempting you, I will financially smother the freelancers/ self-employed people we can’t control, claiming I am performing a social service of protecting the salaried and pensioners while it is clear I have already taken from them all they have and I can’t gain anything more from these categories in such manner.
With the laws I want to enforce:
– I enforce heavier taxation on more people who have no income
– I exempt you from giving taxes for your capital.
– Reduce all taxation you may still have
– I claim I will lower the taxation rate but I will officially state I consider all of the People a thief regardless of evidence to the contrary and, although I will lower the taxation rate I will take from them en masse and dynamically their properties. I will do that by creating:
– Arbitrary inspectional mechanisms for the financial terrorism of the People
– Threatening and intimidating functionaries who do not impose unlawful fines to the People
– Unfounded, unjustified, unfair and unsubstantiated evaluation of annual income with view to extort the fortunes gathered over generations by the People (while I tax exempt you and me)
I charge the People with our anti-social behavior and force the People to pay for our taxes. Support me in this action of mine, or the People will topple me.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Basic concern of my policy is to secure for you a high rate of mazimizing of your profits, so that:
– your produced wealth augments
– your percentage of influence on Greek society spreads
– I can offer you even more employees working with below-minimum wages
– Make room for even bigger, profitable fundings towards you so that you will not further destroy the environment
Concerning climate changes (which to a great percentage are due to the alteration of the environment by our actions), we invest state funds without control to all the territory with the excuse of (yet without the results that would limit your profits):
– the protection of water resources (which are threatened by your corporations)
– the reinstitution of the forests (after you redesign the land ownership for the land I cleared up for you with the fires)
– the dealing with air pollution (which you create with the cheapest non-filtered production of pollutants by your corprorations/ factories/ plants),
– the recycling and management of waste (using them to characterize and change the worth of areas where you decide it is to your interest).
With the double excuse of the protection of the environment and the country development I begin arbitrarily changing the usage of the land, acts which are very important for your profits.
My vassals in parliament approved the National Spatial Plan regardless of its compatibility with the Constitution, as well as the Special Spatial plans for Tourism, Industry, coastal, island and mountainous areas.
All you interested will now be able to spread for maximization of your profits without caring for legislations or objections from the People. We are also, hurriedly (non-constitutionally and illegally) constructing a National Cadastre with which we will be able to reallocate land belonging individually to the People.
We are making a legislation so that you will be immediately and very cheaply found corporations as you do in Europe. We support you so that you will be dominating business people/ entrepreneurs with new protective laws while I prepared for you new industrial areas for your factories and tidied up the existing ones.
For the enterprises employing at least 10 people we create a new level of monopoly which will eradicate the individual businesses which in Greece occupy and sustain a huge part of the Greek middle (now reduced to lower middle) class.
Regarding your energy we are preparing a long term insurance so that:
– you save energy
– you use/ exploit alternative energy sources
– you exploit and spread the use of natural gas
– you maximize profit from the acquisition of photo-voltaic sources which now is not allowed by legislation
You are earning an even higher profit in a smaller time span and with much fewer personnel you would otherwise need to pay with the application of the National Digital Strategy.
We fund your research and the research of new technologies with:
– the creation of more profitable for you system of rules
– the increase of the available state funding for you
– the creation of centres of development everywhere in Greece (which the People will pay and you will exploit)
– the connection to the internet is upgraded so that you will make faster transactions and you will have greater and more direct control and monitoring of the world. I fund with €2,500,000,000 I have gathered from the People stealing the future of their children to ensure the future of your and our children, replacing with optic fibers the currently well functioning existing network.
– Immediately I must abolish the protective sanctions of the ‘closed’ professions to turn the People against each other and secure for you maximization of your profit while the People are degraded (losing the only source of income by breaking the market through initial very low prices from your international corporations in services). So you will have monopoly in the closed professions too by hiring the ones who will have lost their income for a much lower salary than what they earn now.
It is necessary that I do this for you and I plan to do it as I have been ordered.
Ladies and gentlemen,
My highest priority is:
– the construction of the social conditions you wish for and estimate are fitting for the People
– the securing of cheap labour for you
– the constant proclamation of measures with the excuse of expensiveness we will keep maintaining in this way
I will claim to the People that I am right and I follow the correct policy by telling them that one parameter of the inflation was curbed (not the inflation itself) in comparison to an arbitrary average point from the Eurozone.
Despite these exhausting measures I am applying, the People still intends to keep what you want to take from them, doing so with practices and cooperations that circumvent you and so you still don’t have monopoly in certain areas and fields.
I understand you don’t like it and I consider it important that you aren’t happy.
– I will fight directly and with ferocity the fact that parts of the People still can survive and have property in their names.
– I am unleashing Organizations staffed with people on our side who uniformally will attack the self-employed or businesses not belonging to you.
– I give you the capacity to set any price you like without state control justifying this by quoting the price of your products in another country so that you will not be losing profit, regardless of the biotic level of Greece.
– I am creating a Market Surveillance Service with extended powers so that they can police all those not belonging to you (i.e. they are not multinational or your own corporation)
– For the same purpose I am reforming the competition committee which will guarantee that you will be making maximized profits
– I will preemptively secure your profits in the fuel market
– I am making a law that will deny the self employed and the family/ personal businesses the part of the market they had.
I always see to and secure for you a lot and cheap labour availability.
I will support without deviation the creation of your new enterprises, new investments, new work force for you.
I promote the yielding of new scientists and workers with a receipt block (i.e. working as dependents but appearing as independents/ self-employed so you don’t have to pay for insurance).
I promote the work of youth and women with a receipt block.
I fund you, taking away money and jobs from the People, so that you can hire those most in desperation and therefore fully subdued of the available work force, that is immigrants, refugees, long-term unemployed, invalid people (90% of whom I have created with the rules and methods I have already mentioned in my speech).
It is very important (especially for the youth beginning their careers) to keep paying for insurance/ pension coverage they will not receive.
I present myself as socially responsible and protector of the many while:
– I stopped applying laws and I merged Cashtills earning great amounts for you
– I secured for you a reduction in the salaries of the workers practicing dangerous, deadly and unhealthy occupations so that you can use them to the fullest for whatever amount of years they may last,
– I limited the support of IKA (= the main Cashtill offering medical care and pensions) especially in cases of long term/ serious/ incurable diseases,
– I will make the over-merging of all the social security Cashtills into one I will see to it that it has a deficit right from the start since nobody will be able to check what fortune/ property there was in their Cashtill and where it was given.
Immediately I will make another cashtill where I will make assorted redistributions at will and without answering to anyone, with the People’s payment, whom I will arbitrarily deem they have no financial need.
Instead of controlling the oil prices you set I will indirectly fund you starting from the jobless and the low-level pensioners (whom I have rendered such) to who I will give enough allowance for 3 months of oil or one month of food and amenities.
Ladies and gentlemen,
The most effective means to achieve all of the above as well as all I will present below is to pretend we are fighting and in the same time cultivate the malfunction of the Public Sector.
The more effective excuses include:
– squandering
– corruption in the services
– bureaucracy
I will change the practices that don’t give you income, stall you in your investments and tire you.
I will tear apart the Public Sector from top to bottom applying the following changes:
– I will increase the powers of inspection mechanisms that will not answer to anyone and will inspect/ tire/ obstruct the People.
– I will make KEP (Centers for Citizen Services) and I will maintain the others so that they will confuse and obstruct the People as effectively as possible.
– I remind you that I will make the process for the serving of your corporations very easy.
– I am introducing new concepts I don’t explain to the People but which will allow you to use them and exploit them even more.
– I am changing the Law so that you will be better serviced and faster.
We are immediately making legislation which:
– we legislate the Free Cohabitation Agreement
– we accelerate procedures for divorce paper issues
– we are reforming the adoption framework
It is very important that I secure all the thousands of high ranking people on our side who at this time are not in the lists of the Public Sector and that I give them all the privileges the Private Sector Law under which they are now employed in the Public Sector.
That is why I am making a new legislation so that they are legal on the surface. Above all I want to promote the maximization of your profits in the local areas using all the state funds I am giving you. For that reason I am making a new system of administration according to the suggestions of KEDKE and ENAE. For sure I won’t allow the People to have a say.
I will merge the Central Administration Organizations so that I will satisfy you fully financially, politically and internationally and I will ensure a favourable for us election result.
For this reason:
– we enforce the “Program Theseus”
– we give in Central Administration 90% of the commuting fee
– I pay out all the legal funds I was not giving out and
– I regulate the return of the past funds I had kept without reason and which reach up to €1,700,000,000 and which I had illegally been handling for your benefit.
With the above I am deeply altering the state structure without answering to the People for it.
Ladies and gentlemen,
I have forced Greece to be fully exploitable to the foreign capital and I am doing all I can to attract it even on the geopolitical level.
Greece is looking at potential of serving you better:
– it becomes a center of capital maximization for all of SE Europe
– it becomes a center of energy routes so that you will be able to control the availability of energy and money as was always the case with all the empires possessing Greece.
– you are making profit everywhere with the facilities I had promised you last year. Just from the ministry of the Environment and Construction Planning you have earned €18,000,000,000 from the construction and afterwards even more from the exploitation which you will do of them as I have given the works/ facilities to you from now. 40% of those are in N. Greece.
– With Egnatia Highway, in the next months you will have great profit from the exploitation of any kind including tolls.
– Same holds for the National Highway of Athens- Thessaloniki
– Same holds for Thessaloniki metro
– Same holds with the renovations of the already functional airport ‘Macedonia’
– I guarantee I will ignore the People and the laws opposing and having blocked the construction of the enormously expensive unnecessary submarine highway and I will construct it whether they want it or not.
– I am making other works I am not announcing to the People but for which I force them to pay.
– I have agreed to sell to foreign agents of international capital the ports of Thessaloniki and Peraieus which belong the People maximizing your profit, your investments and limiting your business costs.
I also inform you that I personally decide and order arbitrarily that the International Trade Fair location is transported in a place outside of the centre of Thessaloniki where you will be able to apply your future business plans for it and I will fund you so you can make a metropolitan park here, which you will be able to enjoy and exploit.
I am funding the process of choosing a new area and all other processes necessary, maximizing your profits yet again, and taking away these financial sources from services and vested functions of the Greek People.
All the Greek province area begins to render you profit as I give 82% of the great national capital for this purpose.
I have already announced for you business plans for construction and works for facilities already surpassing €9,500,000,000 for more roads.
I will pay you the multiple of their actual cost so you can make:
– the main street axis Rahes-Maliakos-Kleidi Imathias
– the axis of Central Greece (E65)
– the Ionian Highway
– the axis Corinth-Tripolis-Kalamata and Leuktro-Sparta as well as
– the axis of Eleusina- Corinth- Patra- Pyrgos-Tsakona.
I give you the airports of the country with the pretext of upgrading them.
I programmed for you several works which I am not announcing to the people who will fund them and through the method of cooperation/ synergy you will exploit at least €5,700,000,000.
The same holds for €10,000,000,000 of the developmental law.
I will fund you to rebuilt the fire-inflicted provinces as benefits you. After I used the capital for one year I am now finally using it as I should have to rebuild houses.
I reconstruct and change the profile of agriculture/ farming and forests with non-transparant interventions and works of at least €1,000,000,000.
I am forcing the farmer to cultivate things he doesn’t know how and make other things as well he is not familiar with. I fund people on our side to remain at their lands as the other leave. I give their children scholarships to study in similar fields (whatever that means/ implies).
We fund the tourism enterprise in all the land. And mostly the alternative forms of tourism which are not easily accessible and exploitable by the People and the standard tourist facilities they have.
I will claim, regardless if even by my present speech I prove that I am lying, that I am interested in creating income for everyone belonging in the category of human.
I will claim that I am consistent and have a plan for that.
I will claim, though I will keep referring to them as proof of my effectiveness regardless of real raw data to the contrary, that I am interested in how the people is feeling (even though I only treat you as Citizens and not the People ).
Ladies and gentlemen,
In an era where there are stirrings and dissent in the People, we must go forward with guarantees of the stability of our positions.
We are achieving and will achieve this with the support and protection of the EU, in return for which I will:
– give up National sovereign Rights in our sea and coastal areas
– accept all elements (regardless of origin, quality and risk) we are ordered to accept as immigrants in our lands
– pay all we are asked with the excuse of social aid regardless if the receipient of this social aid will be no People
– indebt ourselves for huge funds which you will earn with several business plans in the islands
My first priority is not the interest of the Nation I have sworn with religious oath to serve above all, but on the contrary it is the policies and demands of EU agents of unknown identities, which I promote and enforce as their agent instead of independent state representative of the Greek People.
That is why I clearly told Skopje that in order for no conflict to exist I will accept to give them with a geographical distinction the name Macedonia which belongs to Greece (at least with formal possession and use and international recognition through Agreements), although my own Constitution forbids it. I respect their Constitution more because above all I obey reliably to other orders.
Regardless of political/ diplomatic actions and challenges (of imperialistic nature) by Turkey I will claim I continue with a smoothing out of the Greek-Turkish relations even though this is impossible with such diplomatic action. Regardless of the highly inappropriate imperialistic behavior of the leadership of Turkey and the Turkish-cypriot one, I am acting as if they have behaved properly and promote a reunification of Cyprus, as it will serve European agents (and not the reinstatement of order in the occupied part or the interest of the Cypriot People).
I note that I will make a law to legitimize the rigging of the election result of the National elections by affording the right to vote of Émigré people who do not participate/ have no experience of day to day Greece, who are not called to pay the taxes and the financial burdens I enforce to the People, who will not reap the consequences of their vote as they do not reside in Greece and who cannot nor the People can check the transparency of the whole process of voting.
I am announcing that during the period of strife in our area I moved on to actions the People does not know or I have not allowed them to voice their opinion on highly important National matters such as:
– my stance regarding Turkey in relation to the Cypriot matter
– my stance (whatever it was) regarding the issue of the crisis in S. Ossetia
– my apparent decisiveness with a veto which should have been considered automatic (according to my Constitution and the stance of the Greek People historically) and which I announced above I will cancel out.
Ladies and gentlemen,
I cannot guarantee anything regarding what will happen and when the impact of the international financial crisis will stop.
The People of Greece, just like all of Europe, will face grave survival difficulties.
I will claim I am taking this seriously in mind (although I announced just now that hundreds of billion of the People’s euro which they will be deprived in their daily needs and quality of life and vested rights I will invest in non-vital or completely useless works so that I will be able to give them to you) and I truly do take it seriously in mind since it will be my basic excuse for one of the ugliest and most blatant financial bloodlettings of the People since the end of the action of the right-wing in 1981.
I will use this excuse not to make a single retreat and be even more oppressive and insatiable saying all the time that I deprive the People for their own good even if I deprive them to death.
And all that to serve your own interest with audacity. I do not care if I need to lose an election since I will simply wait for enough time to return to power without having lost (neither you nor me) any fortune from what I took away for you.
I will claim that the international crisis will be overcome at some future date so that I will not despair the People enough to overthrow me before I manage to secure what I have promised you.
I am certain I will mange it and that is obvious if you compare the profits you had in Greece compared to abroad and consequently I continue with more force.
I will not stop for a minute.
I will complete the changes in the Public Sector so that it will be serving to you, because we are abolishing inhibiting for your businesses agents and increase your financial power. I will complete them because they offer you even more influence in even wider parts of the social fortune and allow you to achieve your goals.
This is the program I have which not only I don’t abandon but on the contrary I enforce, not only I don’t revoke, but on the contrary I accelerate.
I continue with your support, in full knowledge of the Popular objection but also with optimism for your future in Greece.
I will claim, while I am executing all of the above which is against Greece and its People who I am depraving, that I have their best interest as my policy trajectory.”
