With the end of the formal electoral process and the anxious initial attempts at explaining the ballot results by the now well-known propaganda sources and their representatives, it is best to proceed with an objective appraisal bereft of any sentimentality, impressionisms and constructed phraseologies so as to appreciate what has truly occurred and what picture has been painted by our fellow Greek citizens, true members of the Greek People.
In the present article, I will not endeavour on the issue of electoral jugglery at the level of data processing, not because it did not happen but because it cannot be verified or proved on the basis of eye-witnesses from within the premises of companies like Singular Logic (a company the identity of which we do not know, and neither are we aware of their interests), thus we are unable at this point to comment on it in the absence of objective data.
Yet, I will complete engage with the issue of electoral jugglery at the level of the electoral body, illegally and unconstitutionally, since persons entered in the electoral lists are not formally legitimized by the Greek Constitution to vote and be voted for. That is, the right to vote has been illegally given to people who officially declare themselves to be immigrants and not Greek Citizens, and THE CONSTITUTION CLEARLY STIPULATES THAT EXTENSION OF THE RIGHT TO VOTE TO ALIENS IS ILLEGAL. If the Kallikratis Plan provides for such illegal extensions of the right to vote, then the Plan/Bylaw itself is illegal and unconstitutional and is liable to all pertinent measures for such illegality.
Of course with the Papandreou government, it is unfortunately the rule, rather than the exception to witness such blatant encroachment of our Greek Constitution in all respects in at every chance.
We therefore embark on our analysis fully cognizant of the fact that we are dealing with an adulterated picture of the electoral body, after the dilution of its constituencies by the two main political parties, enjoying the support/ indulgence of the rest of the political parties. Thus we have a virtual pilfering of whichever electoral result in favour of those two main political parties, one way or the other. This must be considered a given in view of the fact that the immigrant, by nature, will vote having in mind less the interest of Greece or of whatever of its cities and more his own clientelist relationship and his dependence on all those who protect / promote / or simply exploit him.
Let us hold on to this conclusion, because we shall get back to it on the basis of numbers.
Thus, we have the overwhelming majority of the electoral body (about 70-77% of voters) abstaining or voting by casting either a white or cancelled vote, thus rejecting all candidates in general.
This means that whomever got elected out of the available candidates, got elected on at best a total of 23% of the national vote, something that, as we are well aware, constitutes a small pathetic minority, since we are talking about the national electoral vote base of all the parties together and not just one of them.
We all know how to extrapolate to get to the real percentages on the basis of which they are so histrionically hilarious at PASOK claiming that they did not plummet to the bottom and that they still enjoy (sic) the support of the People, while the rest of the parties claim they achieved improvements of various magnitudes of their standing in the electoral body. The sole additive total of the valid national electoral vote, including all the eloquent 17%-22% achieved at a number of prefectures should be enough to prove to anyone that they neither possess legitimacy nor enjoy representational majority, nor, of course, any indulgence on the part of the People.
A food I judge as passable, I eventually eat, but in no case I leave untouched on the platter. And a food I decide to leave untouched on the platter I cannot clean myself afterwards, does not mean that I do not eventually choose to throw to the bin.
In other words, abstention from the vote, in its mildest form, should be read as saying that no candidate has offered any motive to the voter to step out and vote for him. It is clear that if Greeks saw any interests of theirs potentially serviced by any candidacy, they would vote for it: we are referring to a collective, National interest, because as we shall see below, the clientelist interest of a number of Greeks have already been reflected in the national ballot.
The setup of the electoral law is such that it allows for no dispute vote, i.e., voting not for the election but for the exclusion of candidates/parties from the available electoral choice, by not allowing for an upper limit of percentages of abstention above which no candidacy would be allowed because it would be impossible for any such candidacy to legally and democratically secure majority representation in the said elections and thus guarantee Democracy itself.
Thus, we see that deliberately, they disallow any alternative reading of the abstention, since something like that would have been automatically achievable if the electoral law itself provided, for example, that abstention at or above 35% would automatically mean incapacity of all and every candidate at every post to be elected, and immediate setup of elections WITHOUT PARTY FORMATIONS, and personality-based crossing of a common ballot, regardless of the persons wishing to offer solutions: i.e., the boasting of every Lomverdos that ‘whomever feels he can do the job better, let him come forth’, something which is institutionally impossible since no multi-party or coalition government can be formed.
In this way, the abstaining Citizen would know that in fact by staying away from the ballot, he would in fact be voting against the forming of any government out of the range of available candidacies during the pre-electoral period, and hence, abstention would de facto be included in every party-led reading of the electoral result.
HAVING THE CHOICE TO REJECT ALL AVAILABLE CHOICES OFFERED DURING A PRE-ELECTION PERIOD IS ALSO PART AND PARCEL OF THE DEMOCRATIC EXERCISE OF THE RIGHT OF FREEDOM OF CHOICE AND IT IS TOTALLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL NOT TO PROVIDE FOR IT.
SUBJECTING SOMEONE TO A FORCED CHOICE, DENYING HIM THE RIGHT TO A GENERAL REJECTION OF ALL AVAILABLE OPTIONS CONSTITUTES POLITICAL BLACKMAIL AND SUPPRESSION OF THE RIGHT TO FREE EXPRESSION/WILL/ DEMAND FOR OTHER, NEW OPTIONS POTENTIALLY BETTER ABLE TO BRING IMPROVEMENT TO DEMOCRACY AND TO THE STATE OF JUSTICE.
In fact, as it stands, the electoral system and the electoral law, de facto subjects the vote of the Greek citizen to pilfering and use by a political system that favours the oligarchs and the suppressors.
It is unequivocally accepted by all of us, and none of us could possibly prove the contrary, that the most sequestered, privileged and guarded hereditarily-ascribed profession is the parliamentarian party member and professional politician, comprising in principle people without a regular profession who lead their lives on pilfered and illicitly-gained public funds (directly or indirectly) on the basis of which they reproduce their hold in the political scene of the country.
And now we come to the clientelist relationships: in the most conducive to such an estimation electoral vote, we see that the clientelist relationships of all political parties are laid bare through their achieved proportion of the vote. The ones having a vested interest in continuing the wheeling-dealing and who have sold their vote, are precisely those who rushed to elect the various party-supported candidacies, including a small margin of error for those who vote every time simply because they felt, again, that it was their duty (sic) to do so, or got carried away in the process.
These, in other words, are those who totally deserve the anathema we have all been subjected to as a Greek People by the foul-mouthed Pangalos, GAP and every which representative of an international authority, newspapers, within and without Greece, the rest of the local and international media, etc. This is an average of at most 25% out of which a certain proportion are not even Greek Citizens.
These people are the age-long ephialtes (traitors) endemic on the political scene since ancient times and not the Greek People who objectively rejected the sum total of the traitors of the Nation and of the Country, either abstaining from the ballots or by casting a cancelled vote.
In fact, and bearing in mind the self-defeating opprobrium committed by GAP when he threatened that unless the People vote and unless they vote for PASOK at that, there would be chaos awaiting us all, we all know very well, and there is no need for me to repeat, that over 70% of the people told in him that ‘I prefer not to offer you legitimacy to continue with your lechery on our Regime and my Rights, rather than give you or anybody else who betrayed me, reason to be happy’.
And because, on the basis of numbers, no politician should have any reason to be happy, they all, in reaction, came forth, as if they were addressing National election results, to reassure us that they have reason to celebrate and that in fact they feel stronger than before.
What then we all are experiencing is indeed a total recall as Samaras (unbecomingly) referred to, but not of NDP or of any other party: we have total recall of the politicization of the Greek People, who since the 21st of April 1967 had up today been recovering from a great infliction.
Nowadays, we Greeks, being politicized and not party-led, we have found the strength to resist compromise and to allay the fear prompting us to flock ourselves into the farm of every traitor and collaborating fraud.
We are in other words, ready to decide, as a truly Sovereign People, in spite of these oligarchic scions, what is it we want from ourselves, our Nation and our Country, and to resist choosing from the double dôte menu offered by the five or six appointed joints run by the same mafia.
