On the basis of press releases, the various calls to ʽdutyʼ sided by the medley of threats and attempts to impress by the government, it has become rather easy to diagnose what it is that truly poses a threat to this regime, as well as surmise what this regime considers a tool to use in the face of peopleʼs reactions, i.e., the Greek People in our case, standing opposed to GAPʼs regime.
The manner of demonstrations during GAPʼs opening speech at the 2011 International Trade Fair of Thessalonica evinces a series of symptoms:
1. Demonstrations are either totally incapable of attracting the attention of its target (i.e., the attention of the government) or they are completely ramshackle and unorganized and in a sorry state of dynamism,
2. Demonstrations have been degraded to become mobs easily marshaled to the whims of every provocateur who uproots trees and vandalizes property gratuitously and without a clear target able to be viewed as a political act (provoking riot police into opening fire by shooting tear gas, is simply, as analyzed many times already, offering help to the regime).
3. Demonstrations set the frame picturing the fear of the police state of the Papandreou dictatorship, instead of helping turn the tables and change the terms in Peopleʼs favor as we shall explain below,
4. Demonstrations as they are today stand for the fragmentation of the Popular strength and furnish tangible proof to the regime that the party / para-unionist mechanisms of control is still functioning well.
In other words, the whole show staged in the form of a demonstration by GSEE – ADEDY all the way down to the ʽIndignadosʼ , the Communist Party and SYRIZA-led PAME and the rest of the reddish-orange or black-donning colorful demonstrators, are in full harmony with the regime, since they systematically avoid all concerted action or reaction which could cut short (an thus attract the proper attention and start a domino-like wake-up series of calls igniting further action) the baneful trajectory against which stands the overwhelming majority of the Greek People. The only thing these demonstrations achieve is to proclaim openly to the world that the Democratic tool of demonstration has been rendered useless and the proud Sovereign People have been effectively reduced to the carriageʼs last cog, which, if it creaks annoyingly, it gets a heavy-handed slap on the neck. It is as if historically, the People acquired the label ʽSovereignʼ by mere whim of fortune, and not because the People have been the true possessors and wielders of the power to enforce upon and brand that honorable title on the faces of those literally rabid and insatiable beings who are still reminiscing of the social conditions of the industrial revolution governing people by feudal law.
Thus they burden the Greek People all those who are self-proclaimed ʽleaders and organizersʼ of the demonstrations (as well as ʽwatchers and protectorsʼ of flanks and fringes of the demonstration, ʽreaction controllersʼ, etc) by showing the People that they are seemingly powerless and that they have already lost a battle in which they did not even engage.
But which battle are we talking about?
This is the bras de fer, the tug-of-war regarding who is in charge of this place. Because for at least the last forty years (to save us the trouble of getting to earlier epochs) the People have been systematically brainwashed into believing that they are in dire need of ʽsavioursʼ, ʽleadersʼ, ʽnational father figuresʼ, ʽunion leadersʼ, ʽofficialsʼ, ʽcultivated patriotsʼ who, for some unexplained and curious reason they will bare their breasts to fight for the rights and interests of that People (but not their own interests), while the People themselves are supposed to just stand and watch and not punish nor intervene to stop utter destruction since they see it coming.
Reality and history however teach us different lessons. They teach us that the only and true Sovereign capable of holding power is the People across all types of regimes, while all those self-proclaimed ʽlordsʼ resemble the poor bastards who get photographed in front of a sleeping dragon, whom the ʽlordʼ supposedly acts as if he in control of.
The truth is that this poor bastard can dance for as long as the dragon is asleep and knows not of its true strength. From the moment the dragon awakes and realizes who possesses true teeth, every such ʽlordʼ is instantly transformed into an appetizer … of his ex-beast of burden.
The whole charade and art of politics consists of keeping this dragon asleep and if it ever awakes, to keep it from realizing that it is itself that possesses the sharp teeth and not the politician. To this effort to keep the dragon asleep and convinced of its powerlessness all these unionists and indignados offer immensely, because they advise passivity in the face of consuming fire, like those star-journalists with their super-sensitive selective ʽhumanitarianismʼ and ʽshow of respectʼ to the Constitution and Human Rights, as is usually the case with all cronies in such pathetic regimes like ours.
In other words, we need to realize that People succeed where there is simple and undiluted common sense and natural reaction, not any ʽorganizationʼ. People have succeeded where the law of action and reaction stands equal for all, and where there is no room for ʽhistrionicsʼ and ʽsymbolismsʼ but practicality in the sending the message: when you threaten someone with a slap in the face to stop him from continuing the crime he had long been committing against you, then you should let him have it, because if you hesitate or if you do not, he will get the message that he got away with it and that he has won a victory over you, and then he will bring along his friends and buddies to celebrate and engage in worse crimes (against you).
In other words, every time a demonstration takes place which proves powerless to put a stop to a process against which they are supposedly demonstrating, or which does not COMPEL whatever authority to address the demonstrators themselves and not their spokesmen, and FORCE THE REGIME TO COMMIT itself to steering a corrective course, the regime becomes worse and does worse and indeed right AFTER each failed demonstration which has degraded itself to a stroll adorned with police beating and music of sorts.
So, what needs to be done?
The demonstration needs to be headless: no leader or herder of pathetic sheep should be ahead to contain the others, and no spokesman who could take advantage of the misplaced trust of the many and exploit and manipulate it and in the end bend it and corrupt it. Only a coordinator is needed, and only according to need and not by appointment.
When you decide to demonstrate you cannot fear what might happen in general or may happen to you personally. In such an all-out fight (as GAP claims his is) you cannot keep anything safe with fearing the worst. You must be prepared for everything, and then chances are very little will happen.
The demonstration must be decisive in stopping all and every process against which it stands against and it should not dissolve unless it is successful whatever that means.
The demonstrators must realize that they are dealing with savages opposing them, relentless criminals who will not hesitate to kill them with chemical sprays or brutal beatings and should be dealt with precisely as that: when you have to deal with armed hoodlums you do not address them with flowers and sweet talk.
Every action of the demonstrators must target the true culprits (that is, the regime and the government that enforces it) and not the tools of the opponent, that is, the police, the buildings and the marble pavements. The obstacles between the demonstrators and their targets should be dealt with swiftly, decisively and mainly with disinterest: it is of no concern to the demonstrator what or why the riot policeman does something; what it is of concern is how to neutralize him (that is , render him incapable of spraying, hitting, pursuing, arresting, which can be achieved without resorting to dangerous violence) and only to clear to way to the objective of the demonstration.
And finally, what is needed is one, single demonstration and not seven happening at the same time. Joining forces carry that logic and Greek Citizens should never allow their own fragmentation by each and every ʽorganizerʼ whose true purpose is to weaken the total force and curb its potential. We are all being threatened and destroyed by the same vile source to which we are obliged by the Constitution but also by International Law to put a stop.
