During all the past decades, unionists of all shades and colors have led us to
believe that a mass protest reflecting mass mobilization is in fact a parody of
mass protest, one that becomes such, not because of the people taking part in
them but because of the unionists who knowingly and deliberately set it up this
way.
Instead of a protest assuming a role of forcing the government into acceding to
its demands, such a protest has been long demoted into a passive parade and
procession which eventually disperses, leaving the government free to decide
whether that demonstration should be taken on board or not.
