TO EVERY CITIZEN WHO WANTS TO BE PRESENT ON THE 28TH OF OCTOBER 2012 AT SYNTAGMA:

It is our Constitutional Right to show our presence to the parade and honour the Heroes as we deem proper.

Police restrictive action on the behest of an actually formally defunct government are based on their reluctance to assume responsibility for supporting an anti-constitutional measure.

Let us divest them of the possibility to feel that they are beyond our control for their criminal actions and let them be scared that each one they arrest or illegally bar from access the area of the event, in complete and utter disregard for the Constitution, and his or her Human Rights is already in communication with their superiors and has the power to sue each and every one in the police force for police brutality and violation of the Constitutional Rights.

Let us not let them feel that they enjoy our tolerance: send the following petition to GADA (The General Police Headquarters in Athens) via email
( gada@hellenicpolice.gr & gada@astynomia.gr ) and ask for an official petition number through the phone; ask to talk to the officer in change and note his/her name); ask for a top priority written response, just as we did.

The pertinent letter follows:

TO: GADA
Office of the Commander General of the Police Force of Attiki

Re: ʽTop-priority Petition for the supply of information regarding the application of the Constitutional Right of having unrestricted access of Citizens to the site of the 28th of October celebrationsʼ.

I am a Greek Citizen with full Political Rights and white criminal record who has always felt awe and respect for my ancestors who fought during WWII and the Epic of 1940 as well as for those older ones of the 1821 Revolution, and to whom I pay my respect in any way I can. I have always been free to pay my respect without any sort of restriction at all times and places that I needed to do so, feeling that I enjoyed free access throughout the land for which these people fell, so that I can continue to be able to do so.

However, during the last celebration of the 25 of March, this Right of mine, which is buttressed in and protected by the Constitution, was violently remanded, and my personality was grossly offended, by restricting free access to my person to approach the site of the parade, with no justification whatsoever, and was held captive up until the parade in the centre of Athens was over, particularly in the Syntagma area.

Because it was clearly evident that I, along with other co-citizens, was forcibly removed from that particular spot because you were acting under orders not to allow simple Citizens, that is, the Sovereign Greek People, to approach, as they have always done, along the length of the parade area, indeed threatening us with snipers and generally terrorizing us in every way, as if we were the enemies of the state,

I REQUEST THAT YOU FORTHWITH RESPOND TO ME IN WRITING to

1. justify the complete legal basis of indiscriminately restricting access to the Greeks from attending the parade and curtail their right to bestow honor as they wish,
2 justify the complete legal basis regarding the Constitutionality of those restrictive measures, since access is restricted even to Citizens bearing a valid Greek ID card and holding the national symbol, our flag, in hand.
3. inform me as to whether you intend to bring on military reinforcements to provide additional security for political persons who have been invited to watch the parade and secure the area from every Citizen and the reason you intend to take those precautions.
4. inform me how you intend to secure my access to the Monument of Unknown Soldier, and allow me, as well as every other co-Citizen who wishes to do so, to bestow the commensurate honours to those fallen heroes, and enjoy free and unrestricted access during the event of the parade.

Reserving every legal Right of mine,
