There are many proverbs and sayings that describe just how dangerous is someone who, rather than being the conspicuous and open enemy, is a covert enemy, one who goes unnoticed, or even worse, one who poses as a friend, ally or one of your own. It is in that ruse that most of those who would like to manipulate a person or whole societies into enslavement bet on. In this case, the ʽgrey elementsʼ of Greek society comprise perhaps the most powerful card in the hands of the enemies of Greece and the Greek People during this all-out effort of theirs to exterminate them acting on the behalf and behest of foreign occupiers and colonialists as well as of their cronies who have been controlling the politico-economic arena so as to afford open field of action to every anti-Greek element.
The best propagandist and underminer is he or she who presents him or herself as ʽmoderateʼ, ʽobjectiveʼ, as the one who can see ʽboth sidesʼ, who acts the ʽChristian wayʼ, who shows mercy and understanding to the villain but not for the victim, and generally each and everyone who, while declaring he/she is pro-Justice, he/she argues and acts in favour of injustice.
As Greeks throughout their history, we can see that those elements, groups and ʽtakeoversʼ are responsible for the degradation and actual failure of every project the Greek People attempted and enforced over huge cost in struggle and sacrifice in spite of every one, defeating powers who have tried their best to hold all the cards in the pack.
When the Greeks rose against the Turks successfully in 1821, the polity they wished for themselves was very democratic and very pro-People. They ended up having Bavarian supervisors and a king precisely because they were convinced by other so-called greeks that acting so would turn out to be in favour of Greece and so to accept the directives, the patronizing and the associated concessions.
Despite all that, the Greeks ousted the Bavarians and the king officially and wished again for Democracy and Equality and instead found themselves under dictators of a parliamentary form (who in fact continue to be descendants of Bavarians, English, Turk-related or their fanatic followers) only to become later official dictators and viceroys, because it was them who again convinced the Greeks to tolerate those developments and re-accept the suicidal patronizing. Those were the rotten seeds, who presenting themselves as saviours of the nation, protectors of the workers, benefactors, freedom fighters and deliverers of every sort, using communicative tricks instead of real down-to-earth measures, were free to act and roam about because the Greeks had not as yet coded them as National enemies, willing to view their objectively anti-Greek acts as simple misdemeanours and minor transgressions, or human error or bad judgement, still unwilling to see them for what they really were: snakes warming up in their bosoms.
They missed the snakes simply because Greeks restricted themselves to interpreting whatever those rotten seeds did as a so-called expression of their political beliefs (leftists – right-wingers, communists-royalists, pro-Europe – nationalists, etc) and thus failed to see that all of them, acting together behind their facades were pure and simple anti-Greek.
In every so-called left-inspired / liberal move which was acted out such that it invited foreign intervention, while it could have been done just as effectively without offering a chance to anybody to intervene and usurp parts of Greek sovereignty, every one who was scared of a Greek crisis touching upon basic Rights, took those Rights away only from the People, that is, those outside the inner circle, the non-connected, the non-networked, the Greek Citizens yet unsold to the enemy, but never from the capitalists, the shipowners, and the legendary ʽcousinsʼ, stealing in this way the wealth and self-determination from the rest of the Greeks, by further indebting and undermining the independence of the State. Every single one who brought about ʽchangesʼ rooting out education, civilization, culture and civil education, keeping Greeks uneducated as regards their Rights and the Greek Constitution, but also their very history of Struggles against any anti-Greek, blinded Greeks and tied them up in unseen bonds, stealing and snatching in this manner what was left of the Independence of Greeks and Greece, while the Greeks themselves were spent in trying to explain all those actions in terms of political ideologies and beliefs across the entire spectrum.
Who are then the enemies of the Greek People, those who, for as long they exist, they shall always fabricate ways and manners to enslave Greece to those people Greeks have been trying to rid themselves of for the last two hundred years: that is, the foreign occupiers, colonizers and exploiters (from Europe / America, but in the main, from Asia) of its wealth and of its people who can make everything out of nothing and perform miracles:
They are those who ʽrespect the institutionsʼ as far as the politicians are concerned but tear them to shreds as far as the Greek People, the Constitution and its stipulations acting to protect and provide for the Greeks are concerned because ʽthatʼs the way things happenʼ or ʽthis is modernizationʼ.
They are thoseThey are those who admire everything foreign and despise everything Greek, while they present themselves as greeks as if it were possible for any person to love and truly appreciate any aspect of a foreign culture without first feel in love with and enjoy his or her own culture.
They are those who in order to serve the human rights of the aliens / foreigners in this country, trod upon and shred to pieces the Human Rights of the Greeks, in the belief that this will cover their despicable anti-humanism, since it is simply impossible to wish for the death or the prolonged torture of anyone just so you will be able to ʽhelpʼ another, except of course if you are a Nazi, since it was only them who killed, maimed and condemned scores to a slow death just to protect Germans (whom they had first cleansed Germany of the bone).
They are those who supposedly show respect for the national/state interests of other, foreign nations, quasi-states/or state-like entities, while they say to Greeks that they should divest themselves off every notion of State and Nation so as to avoid being branded as ʽnationalistsʼ or xenophobic or revisionists or whatever such nonsense.
They are those who declare themselves to be anti-racists but they automatically aim against every Greek person or Greek thing in their effort to eradicate it, extinguish it, as if it were ever possible not to be a racist when the Rights of a complete race (in the Greek race in this case), are been eradicated with your help on the behest and behalf of the rights of other races, and whose servitude to the big capitalists, their expendability and immigration you consider natural.
They are those who in their capacity as law specialists, prosecutors, and inspectors of every sort, declare inability to protect the Rights of the Greeks, while they gladly accept to be paid by those Greeks, who guarantee their salaries and who permit them to enjoy privileges; much more are those who, having manned those posts, declare protectors of the people but in fact they change nothing nor do they stand fast against those who make a big fuss about the greatness of their ʽfightsʼ.
They are those who declare themselves to be democrats and pro-people as long as they can do so going unchecked and unmonitored by the Greeks, while at the same time they are insatiable in their wish to grab, possess, usurp and exploit capital, position and privilege from within the system they are supposedly against, criticize and despise, while in fact they have done all they could to work for this system having actually come from those classes which have bred it.
They are those who dare look down upon the average Greek Citizen (being themselves nothing else but useless, no good douse bags of patented heirs, networked, state-fed and party-fed cronies, of the harmfully parasitic type) by saying something like ʽyou simply do not understandʼ, ʽyou are not mature enoughʼ, ʽwho are you to question my judgement?ʼ, ʽyou are not capable of comprehending thisʼ in lieu of a grounded argument, when they themselves have no idea what is going on or any knowledge or ability whatsoever, particularly if they are in possession of a (bought-off or given away) degree in economics, law, or in related fields, which they used to the full to grab and possess posts, rather than to act to correct the ills of society.
They are those who have enforced upon us dynasties and families in the political, economic, educational, cultural, athletic, artistic, entrepreneurial, commercial, intermediary, agricultural and all other wealth-producing field, trading places, privileges and power within their cartels as if they were musical chairs, having at the same time the effrontery to show themselves as ʽself-madeʼ miracles, as if we are incapable of searching and finding the truth about them.
They are those who say ʽthis is how things areʼ and as a result, in order to make a career in science or any enterprise, you shall have to subdue yourself to this mafia and plead for your case prostrate, so that they may deign to allow you to taste some morsels of bread crumbs from your own toil which they exploit and control; who say that to make it to any post in the public or private sector that pays more than or similar to those bread crumbs, you must offer them earth and water long before they decide to throw a bone off your flesh, back to you to gnaw on.
They are those who exploit religion as a supreme cast of clerics and who try, using the fear of God, to make you submit to a situation that God has condemned.
They are those who wear uniforms full of insignia but abandon their posts on the wall battlements or open the gates completely under the pretext that they have no weapons, that they are powerless, that they were scared/or blackmailed, or were ordered to do so, while they have taken an oath to act otherwise.
They are those who, having a post in the public sector, ʽobey ordersʼ (oral or written) not caring what these orders contain, whether they abide by the stipulations of the Constitution, whether they are in favour of the Greek People, for as long as they keep getting their salaries, failing to comprehend like idiots (particularly for the lower rank) that those whom they serve, do not reward good dogs, they simply keep them there as a makeshift bulwark when they themselves try to avoid the wrath of the People.
All those appear to be numerous, and seem that if they all go away, there will be none left to man positions and work the country, or that we are not strong enough to make them all disappear just like the cancerous cells and simple traitors they are. However this is simply not true: it is simply the impression those last but truly dangerous enemies try to embed:
They are those who systematically and catatonically declare that they are disappointed from the Greeks, that they see nothing impressive or worthy in the action already taken by the Greeks against those huge eradicating assaults against them; those who accept that ʽwe all ate it up togetherʼ, who accept everything derogatory and defamatory there is about Greeks, while at the same time they themselves appear dispirited, resigned, disappointed and more importantly, idle (while they are very active declaring just how much they are resigned and ready to accept their destiny, or escape through immigration).
Despite all that, if we know how to recognize them as enemies and isolate them, immediately and decisively, we just take way their corrosive and undermining power, the only kind of power the enemy of the People, and in this case of the Greeks, can still use and go unnoticed.
Just like every People, we have elements we must correct and improve upon. We also have innumerable positive elements and mainly WE ARE NOT TO BLAME FOR THE ACTIONS OF THE USURPERS OF POWER, JUST LIKE NO ONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CRIMINAL ACTS OF HIS/HER ENEMY.
The first thing we must correct is our gullibility: we should put and end to any effort to explain the unexplainable, even if the person who speaks or is committing the act is a friend or acquaintance of ours but is still one falling under the categories of people described above.
In every war, the first thing that is said to the Citizens is watch over your shoulder who you talk to and keep your eyes and ears open when they are talking to you: because this was precisely the way to deal with spies and propagandists of the enemy.
We are now at war as well, as it is accepted by everyone, and that is the way we should behave, since this is a war of attrition, of propaganda, of subterfuge, of fear mongering and the battleground of our daily lived reality.
