During all the past decades, unionists of all shades and colors have led us to
believe that a mass protest reflecting mass mobilization is in fact a parody of
mass protest, one that becomes such, not because of the people taking part in
them but because of the unionists who knowingly and deliberately set it up this
way.
Instead of a protest assuming a role of forcing the government into acceding to
its demands, such a protest has been long demoted into a passive parade and
procession which eventually disperses, leaving the government free to decide
whether that demonstration should be taken on board or not.
In fact, one of the most powerful weapons possessed by the People has been
defused and is being used only as a show of power of every such unionist or
union so that later it can be used on the bargaining table to settle the
micro-political interests of every party-led crony who takes shameful advantage
of his position to pursue personal advancement of himself and his clique and not
of those he supposedly represents.
This is easy to confirm if we see how split the demonstrations of the unionists
hold their own separate shows (PAME separately from GSEE, etc) thus disallowing
such an organization and commonly mobilized front that would have brought a
union of the People into a common National corpus. On the contrary, the People
are kept separated, in the so-called factions that represent nothing real nor
actual but are there to serve only the unionists and the government itself, who
finds thus the necessary excuse to speak about ʽminoritiesʼ while in fact the
demands shouted out represent the grand total of the Greek People (i.e, viable
pensions, lowest ceilings for salaries in the private and public sectors,
lifting of the politiciansʼ immunity allowing actual persecution of the corrupt
governmentals and politicians, laws that would not serve the interests of
companies and banks, just taxation and insurance fee policies, etc). In fact, if
we stay on the issues raised by each occupational sector and study their general
line of demands (except of course those of SEV and of the bankers), we shall see
that the all People desire the simple application of the first articles of the
Constitution: Equity, Equality, Proportionality, Human Rights.
We can then see clearly that splitting the protests into small and separate ones
works invariably for the interest of the government, who have everything to gain
from watching the otherwise justly protesting Greeks parade in a silent
procession reminiscent of the religious processions of Good Friday Epitaphs,
headed by the unionists and the various ʽleadersʼ because in this way the
government do not need to accede to any Popular mandate heard over by the
parading throng outside the Parliament.
A real protest, which would not be reined in by the unionists on the one hand
and the scene-crashers / riot police units (RPU) on the other, who have been for
decades now controlling every such popular expression, needs to have a clear
TARGET, and not stop until this target is successfully met. Otherwise, this
would not be a protest but a pathetic show.
1. The protest must ALWAYS BE UNITED and to preclude any splitting. Demands are
similar and uniform since the very existence of a powerful Greek Constitution
and a completely established and internationally accepted Bill of Human Rights
stand firmly behind the demand for a State of Justice, which in its turn will
guarantee viability and development.
2. The unionists SHOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO ORDER THE DISPERSAL OF A PROTEST,
neither should they be allowed to control the protestors. They should act just
as coordinators, in a previously agreed-upon setup of strategic steps and not
the pathetic schedule of a festivity.
3. The unionists cannot wholesale monopolize the microphones, and neither is
their job to deliver speeches to the People. Their job is not to use the mikes
to voice the demands of the People to the government or assume the role of
communicative liaison to them.
4. The Constitution itself stipulates clearly and succinctly in Article 10, that
the governement are obliged under Constitutional Law to address the demands and
provide a sustained answer to these demands, even if just a single Citizens vows
to make such a demand. When therefore there are 100,000 Citizens on the
governmentʼs doorstep, the government is obliged to answer WITHOUT ANY DELAY. In
other words, the People should demand that the responsible official step out and
addresses them in answer to their demands.
5. Simple deposition of a written bill of demands which is not concurrently
demanding immediate response to these set of demands boils down to no demands at
all.
In other words, a proper protest should be in possession of a clear Set of
Demands and the People should never move an inch from such protest before an
official response is given in answer to these demands. Such answer the People
will approve or disapprove of by voice RIGHT THERE AND THEN (AND CERTAINLY NOT
THE UNIONISTS ALONE). In case the expected response and the answer it contained
is not approved by the People, the People will demand for a different answer and
will not move out unless that answer is received.
That has been the way we as a People obtained a Constitution, ousted kings and
queens and enforced the foundation of a State of Justice which is willy-nilly
denied of us nowadays.
That is how a protest should be waged, a protest which is totally peaceful and
legal but possesses the grit and courage that comprises the very nightmare of
all these traitors.
Such a protest is an act and a will for a war effort and we should not decide
to join any demonstration anymore unless we all stand decided to overwhelm
anybody who will stand against the satisfaction of our just demands.
