Watching the news via the internet
(http://www.megatv.com/megagegonota/default.asp?catid=17525, time 17:30 onwards)
in the mega channel news bulletin, I just couldn’t believe the level of
cynicism, disrespect and sadism (simply calling it ‘illegal’ becomes just a
detail, anymore) of the so-called journalists and in fact propagandists –
representatives of a government, which by means of their actions has become a
totalitarian regime, a junta.
Those who asked for the persecution of persons responsible for the suicide
attempt by Zachopoulos, those who lamented for the collateral loss of life in
the bomb attack in Chrysochoides’ office, those who so much discussed the
assassination of Golias, and show so much concern for the ‘inconvenience’ of the
Citizens because they may spend an extra couple of hours in the traffic, which
in turn may delay them from buying salted products from the usual shop they buy
it from, consider the death of two truckers (probably family men, – we cannot
know since the piece of news is not covered, something that in no way affects
the magnitude of the loss of life even if they were not family men) as being
‘part of the game / a fact of life’ and therefore unworthy of any comment.
They are the same anchormen and anchorwomen (the above particular words were
spoken by Olga Tremis) who during the great protest of March 5, 2010 shed tears
over the Marfin disaster, considering the lives lost there as sacred and above
all intents and purposes.
This is of course correct, Human Life is indeed Sacred. It is above all other
intents and purposes, or should be IN EVERY SUCH CASE.
So, why does the life of two truckers lost, one to tear gas shots and the other
because another truck run him over to clear the way because the trucker was
peacefully protesting in front of it, are worthless and any mention and ‘simply
an attempt to create impressions’ as Tremi so characteristically and so
shamelessly put it, being almost ready to add that the loss of life during a
protest, ‘should be expected as being part and parcel of the process’?
And which ‘process’ is she talking about, and who is she to put a gauge on which
life is sacred and worthy of protection and which is expendable and worthless of
even a mention in passing, just like the poor kittens flattened out on the
streets up until the garbage man scoops them up?
Why should the near booing of Michalos be worth of making it to the bulletin,
and the act judged as horrible and horror-invoking, but the third casualty or
the woman whom we have seen in the news reels on the Pireaus protests, being
carried away to safety by the trackers, something to be bypassed with aloofness?
This is not to mention so many other cases of biased reporting regarding which
Human (and so, whose Life and Wellbeing) has substance and human rights , and
which is, according to them, worthless of mention and undeserving of Rights, if
they do not say so.
The issue here, as every commonsensical human being immediately realizes, goes
beyond the case of the truckers and their demands, their argumentation or the
counter-argumentation, whatever that might be, of the government.
Here we are witnessing the ratification, the approval and the acceptance of
suppression to the death of every person who attempts to disagree to the wishes
and the interests of those represented by the government.
Every single one of us among the People, is an expendable tool or obstacle that
must be neutralized no matter what, precisely as we all reduced to whenever we
are faced with a Junta, Occupation or Regency.
In Democratic Regimes, even in the most bogged ones, killing a protestor or
abetting his / her assassination or becoming an accessory before the fact can
never be considered, something logical, legal or ‘part and parcel of the game’.
It is not the first time that we see that the value of blood changes just like
the currency rates amidst the calculations of humanoid monsters who set their
personal interest above everything else: We do not forget the Samina shipwreck
disaster, and how cynically so many people were left to drown while the person
responsible, or at the least, the accessory before the fact, is showered in
office posts and ministerial powers. We do not forget the slaughter at Tempi
where tens of People’s teenagers died with no responsibilities sought from the
real perpetrators; we do not forget the repeated industrial accidents, due to
faulty infrastructure or maintenance in ships; neither do we forget the loss of
Human Life in the army, a result of similar neglect and wheeling-dealing in
armaments deals.
We are not even considering cases of pensioners from the People who simply die
just because they could not cover their treatment costs in time or due to their
inability to pay their medical insurance bills because the money they put in
their Insurance Funds are lining the pockets of those represented and protected
by Tremis and any similar Tremis, Kapsis, Pretenderis, Liaros, Chatzinikolaou,
etc.
We have never discussed about the death toll of traffic accidents or for those
seriously crippled by the neglect of road keeping (by those responsible for
carrying out public works) or faulty posting (by the multitude of specialists
and liable according to the Law).
In contrast, those considered precious, have always been automatically protected
long before even a hint of danger exists for them or something touches them, by
the very police who are in the People’s payroll so as to protect the People.
Precious are regarded the parliamentarians / the politicians / the party cronies
and the bankers, people of the likes of Michalos / industrialists of every sort,
and people like the big-deal journalist who needs police escort so that he or
she can get to the station and on the news bulletin at 8 to let us know that the
truckers and every other Citizen who protests or demands that unconstitutional
laws not be enforced, is worthy of a death sentence if he does not step away
from a SWAT policeman or a truck that does not slow down when there is a Human
Being in front of it.
We have now come to the next level of shedding blood, at which the protestor is
the target and those who target him enjoy impunity from their felonious act,
ie., they are not considered murderers if their shoot down a protester or
stricker.
One wonders whether the policemen escorting the said truck arrested the driver
for wonton or first degree murder or simply decorated him for his act so that he
could transport some goods?
In conclusion, I repeat that the issue is no longer the demands of the truckers,
but whether we as People and Citizens can accept them to kill whomever protests
more than they deem proper, while he is peacefully exercising his Constitutional
Right to strike.
When, in other words, are we the People going to activate the mandate of the
Constitution regarding Article 120, which relies the protection of Democracy on
us and demands that we move against any totalitarianism and illegal law making?
Because it is not just the law against which the truckers stand that is illegal
but also illegal is the enforcement of the collaboration act in the ways that
this has been implemented, as so many have already proved on the basis of
evidence, and which empowers us to disobey it (Article 111 of the Constitution,
par 1).
How much ‘worthless’ blood must be shed before we, under the mandate of our
Constitution, shout ‘enough’?
