OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF DEMOCRACY ON THE ECONOMIC MEASURES
TO: THE PRESIDENT OF THE HELLENIC REPUBLIC
FROM THE CITIZENS: OLGA AND TANYA-MARIA YERITSIDOU
OPEN LETTER
Mr. President,
As First Citizen of the Greek State and guarantor of the effective rule of democracy in Greece, given your high remuneration paid to you by the Greek People who suffer financially to make ends meet, and so as to avoid setting yourself in breach of trust for the Sacred mission that has been bestowed upon you, we call upon you to activate your substantial powers for the benefit of the People and Democracy.
In particular, and in accordance with article 42, paragraph 2 of our Constitution to which you have sworn allegiance and have under oath pledged to protect, you may send back to the Greek Parliament every law plan already voted for by Parliament but which runs counter to the Constitution. This will bring the Plenary of the Parliament before their Constitutional responsibilities, and for you to then be obligated to ratify such law plan THIS PLAN WOULD HAVE TO BE VOTED FOR BY THE ABSOLUTE MAJORITY OF ALL MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT VIA ACTIVATION OF THE SPECIAL PROCESS PROVIDED FOR BY ARTICLE 76, PARAGRAPH 2 OF THE CONSTITUTION.
Given the stupendous extent of Popular opposition to the new economic measures just voted for by the Papandreou government, and which measures even he himself has admitted to their dissolving a series of Constitutional guarantees and Rights of the People, are hurtful to Human Rights but also cause vertical opposition to and rejection of by a sizeable proportion of the Parliament itself, IT IS YOUR SWORN AND NON-NEGOTIABLE DUTY TO SEND BACK THE LAW PLAN ON THE ECONOMIC MEASURES TO THE PARLIAMENT SO THAT THE TOTALITY OF MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT DELIBERATE AND HOLD ON TO THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES AGAINST THE GREEK PEOPLE ON ISSUES OF NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY AND DISSOLUTION OF THE CONSTITUTION.
Let it be you not only as a First Citizen due to your formal office, but as a person first to historically observe in effect the supreme Oath taken, for once more time.
